Log

Short entries. Open source, life, the occasional rabbit hole. No schedule.

Weekly open source: forma — a pure-Rust UI toolkit on the whole stack
forma lands — a cross-platform, self-drawn UI toolkit in Rust, drawing pixel-identical interfaces on six platforms via raw FFI to each OS's GPU and windowing APIs, built on the OxideAV media stack. puressh reaches production-grade SSH with certificates, KRL, and PAM/MFA.
Weekly open source: rsurl grows BitTorrent, puressh takes a security pass
rsurl picks up a full BitTorrent engine and resumable downloads. puressh closes a critical pre-auth DoS and hardens broadly. compcol gets faster and adds QPACK. outscript and spotlib join as Rust ports, and 5fs — a new filesystem for AzusaOS — lands.
Weekly open source: a pure-Rust ICU, and rsurl reaches curl parity
intl lands — a no_std pure-Rust analog of ICU, with the Unicode conformance suites passing 100%. timezone-data and strtotime join it. rsurl reaches functional curl parity under the no-C invariant. puressh moves onto purecrypto 0.6.
Weekly open source: a pure-Rust crypto/networking stack goes public
purecrypto, compcol, puressh, and rsurl come together as a no-C stack — crypto, compression, SSH, and a curl replacement. btmalloc lands a call-site-keyed allocator. fstool migrates its whole compression layer onto the stack. univdreams brings a real QuickTime runtime up under emulation. origami's MD engine moves onto the GPU.
Weekly open source: fstool builds a filesystem matrix, univdreams goes cross-arch
fstool appears and grows a read/write/repack filesystem matrix to v0.4.1 in a week. univdreams adds BPF/Solana/WASM decompilation and a real Win32 scheduler. OxideAV grows a DVD reader and deep container coverage. ClawdWallet hits the real-device path.
Weekly open source: ClawdWallet, univdreams, origami, pure-Go signing
TibaneLabs opens up with ClawdWallet — a Solana Seeker wallet. univdreams ships v0.1 — a universal decompiler/compiler. origami appears — molecular dynamics in Rust. authenticode + gosigner replace osslsigncode with pure-Go signing.
Weekly open source: goro's VM lands, OxideAV fills the codec matrix
Bytecode VM ships in goro. libwallet fixes a Bitcoin bug that broke every send. OxideAV widens from a document stack into a full codec matrix, including hardware-acceleration crates and a 3D-asset stack.
Wrong move
Age verification mandates and the war on VPNs aren't going to do what their advocates think they will.
Weekly open source: libwallet's last mile, OxideAV's document stack
libwallet is 99.9% ready — fixes coming out of actual use against real chains. OxideAV adds fonts, PDF, SVG, plus a wave of lossless and legacy codecs.
Back from Las Vegas
Played in the Kraken Magic: The Gathering event at Bitcoin 2026.
Weekly open source: OxideAV grows up the stack
OxideAV adds streaming, composition, filters, and another wave of codecs; libwallet pushes hard toward go-live with real iOS support.
Still master
Why the branches on my machines are still called master.
Weekly open source: OxideAV, in public
A pure-Rust media framework spread across 45+ repos; libwallet gains a multi-chain Swap API.
Starting a log, again
Why there's a log here now, and what I plan to put in it.
Weekly open source: goro CI push, two new Go libs, one shelved experiment
PHP-in-Go narrows the CI gap; anyhash and pktkit land; litertlm-ios gets shelved honestly rather than dragged on.
Weekly open source: Go libraries for goro
Four new pure-Go libraries — PCRE2, bzip2 compression, streaming MIME, raw tzdata — all for goro, closing gaps in what PHP needs that Go doesn't have natively. Plus pktkit, aipencil, bnpm, slirp.
Weekly open source: teamclaude, blindsig, lnp22 — a crypto-heavy week
teamclaude launches; a blind-signature library and a lattice-based NIZK framework land. goro + goro-rs keep grinding.
Weekly open source: goro and goro-rs, full throttle
Both PHP reimplementations get hundreds of commits each; mpcegosign seeds — threshold RSA signing for EGo SGX enclaves.
Weekly open source: goro-rs, and this site
goro-rs seeds a parallel Rust port of the PHP runtime; goro keeps hammering; portablesql splits into driver crates; this very site gets its first commits.
Weekly open source: psql starts, and FES gets a real read
portablesql/psql pushes forward; fes-analysis publishes a short paper debunking a "quantum-safe" fractal cipher; algoc and jwt get parallel attention.
Weekly open source: a quiet week
13 commits, mostly a new Solana program seeding: chiefburner.
Weekly open source: wgnet — WireGuard as a library
wgnet seeds under vpdotnet: WireGuard crypto and session management behind a "feed UDP, get packets" interface. chiefstaker keeps settling.
Weekly open source: chiefstaker, in earnest
Heavy week on the Solana staking program — 48 commits filling out the on-chain logic and edge cases.
Weekly open source: chiefstaker — time-weighted Solana staking
cterm slows; chiefstaker seeds — a Solana program for staking Token 2022 tokens with exponential-curve reward weight.
Weekly open source: cterm, still going
Third heavy week on cterm; 95 of the week's 100 commits land there.
Weekly open source: cterm, week two
Second heavy week on cterm — 119 commits filling out platform integration, rendering, and AI-coding-assistant ergonomics.
Weekly open source: cterm — a pure-Rust terminal for AI coding
Launching cterm: a native-UI VT100 terminal emulator in pure Rust, tuned for running AI coding assistants like Claude Code.
Weekly open source: algoc — write the algorithm once
Launching algoc: a DSL + transpiler that emits memory-safe implementations of the same algorithm in multiple target languages.
Weekly open source: echeck, and Swift around the edges
A quiet new-year week: finishing the SGX certificate checker and opening up Swift ports of the Bottle and REST client libraries.
